Inspiration When You Need It.

Updated 2025 January 05
It's easy to fail. It takes no effort.
Even with the best intentions to right the ship, turn things around, do things right this time, buckle down, and just focus, we will drop the ball, trip over ourselves, forget a deadline or cancel a recurring charge.
This is a friendly reminder, that it's the journey we're all on, neurotypical and neurodivergent alike.
I find so many comments about "failure" inevitably circle around to "strength" or "willpower." The neurodivergent among us know this is a cruel joke. If learning from failure made us stronger we'd all be bodybuilders. If it created a fountain of willpower, we'd move mountains every day. Those are needed to be sure, but different approaches are required, habit, consistency, play, and the occasional emergency. Divergent Money is all about helping build those scaffolds.
To drive the point home, here are a few of our favorite quotes to carry your battered brains home when everything seems a bit too dark.

"Failure is a reality; we all fail at times, and it's painful when we do. But it's better to fail while striving for something wonderful, challenging, adventurous, and uncertain than to say, 'I don't want to try because I may not succeed completely.'" - Jimmy Carter

"You always pass failure on your way to success." - Mickey Rooney

“Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.” - Nelson Mandela

“The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.” - Paulo Coelho
I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” - Thomas Edison

“Failure is a detour; not a dead-end street.” - Zig Ziglar
